Complementary Colors
Complementary colors are directly opposite each other on the color wheel.
For example: violet complements yellow. Complementary colors can act as a way to embellish each other.

Neutral Colors
Neutral colors are color shades of gray, white, or beige. They also can be slightly tinted with a warm or cool color. Neutral-colored walls provide a background that doesn't over power the color of the furniture or wall hangings, etc. This is something to keep in mind if you're planning to sell your home. Sometimes it's hard for prospective buyers to imagine their own belongings in a home that's vibrantly colored.
